FAQs

Is UHP similar to Yoga?

While both modalities contain stretching, there is a difference between UHP and Yoga. UHP follows specific, scientific standards, while yoga has no standards and is taught differently by each person. Every person trained in UHP should be following the same specific standard to achieve results. To date, the only way to become a Physio-Kinesiologist trained in UHP is to learn directly under Joe Hippensteel and Mimi Ney.

Who can benefit from UHP?

I am a firm believer that everyone can benefit from UHP! You don’t have to be in pain, lack range of motion, have unstable joints or functionality issues. We all get into bad habits whether we realize it or not and it’s our responsibility to treat our bodies with care and proper movement!

I’ve never heard of it. Is it even legit?

UHP has been studied, tested and utilized by Navy SEAL military personnel, athletes and those in pain.
UHP is actively used by a variety of athletes and sports teams as well as Elite Military personnel to improve their performance, reduce their stress and enhance their quality of life:

Athletes: Ricky Lundell – BJJ and Martial Artist, Cleveland Browns NFL Team, various members of NY Mets, Texas Rangers and MLB, David Goggins – ex-Navy SEAL and Ultramarathoner, PGA Golfers, NFL and NBA players

Organizations: Navy SEALs and Elite Military personnel, Cleveland Browns NFL team.
This list is not exclusive and an increasingly number of athletes and professionals are incorporating UHP practice into their active fitness routines.

Can I workout after?

After a deep stretch session that has unlocked greater range of motion I will often recommend waiting 24 hours to give the body time to rest and recover. However, we always do encourage you to warm up using the UHP stretch program designed for you. We can work specifically with you on how to incorporate UHP into your athletic performance routine and enhancement.

Is UHP covered under my benefits?

UHP is taught through the Ultimate Human Performance program which is not governed by a college, thereby no registered numbers can be submitted to insurance.
